Message from the Principal

Maasai Mara Technical and Vocational College (MMTVC), is a public Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institution and one of the fastest-growing institutions in the Republic of Kenya.  The college was established in 2016 in conformity with the TVET Act No. 29 of 2013.

Through the support of the Government of Kenya, the College is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering as well as ICT.

We have seen tremendous growth in terms of courses offered and student enrolment; from an initial population of 3 students in 2017 to over 1500 students and over 70 teaching staff presently.  The Polytechnic offers academic programmes spread across ten teaching departments; namely: Building and Civil Engineering, Business Studies, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Hospitality and Institutional Management, ICT, Mechanical and Automotive Engineering.

Currently, we train at diploma, certificate and artisan levels under the KNEC Curriculum and Levels 3,4,5 and 6 under the TVET CDACC Curriculum. Our hands-on training has ensured that our graduates acquire the necessary skills and competencies as required by the industry, leading to their absorption into the job market.

In 2020, Maasai Mara TVC was competitively selected by the Government of Kenya and the Mastercard Foundation through a rigorous process to be part of the Young Africa Works – Kenya program, a program financed by the Mastercard Foundation and implemented by College Institutes Canada (CICan). The purpose of this program is to enable our institution to build through knowledge exchanges, invitations to workshops and training sessions, and sharing of project products such as learning materials, policies, Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) procedures, Career guidance tools, and monitoring, Learning and Evaluation (MEL) tools.

Maasai Mara TVC is managed by the BOG which is appointed by the Cabinet Secretary of Education and the Principal serves as the Secretary to the Council.  We are a member of the Kenya Association of Technical Training Institutions (KATTI) as well as the Commonwealth Association of Technical Universities and Polytechnics in Africa (CAPA).

Once again, I take this opportunity to welcome you to Maasai Mara TVC.
