Message from the Principal

Maasai Mara Technical and Vocational College (MMTVC) is a premier public Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institution, strategically located in Narok County, within Kenya’s iconic tourism hub. Situated in the heart of the South Rift Valley, the college is nestled near the world-renowned Maasai Mara National Reserve, a global destination celebrated for its breathtaking wildlife, the Great Wildebeest Migration, and the rich cultural heritage of the Maasai community. This unique location positions MMTVC as a center of excellence for Tourism Management, Hospitality, and Wildlife Management training.

Established in 2016 under the TVET Act No. 29 of 2013, MMTVC has grown rapidly to become the largest TVET institution in Narok County. With its strategic location and unwavering support from the Government of Kenya through funding and initiatives, the college has experienced remarkable growth in student enrollment, course offerings, infrastructure development, and staff capacity.

At MMTVC, we are driven by our vision to be a world-class institution providing quality, relevant skills and knowledge tailored to the dynamic needs of the labor market. Our state-of-the-art facilities and dedicated faculty empower us to deliver exceptional training, particularly in Electrical Engineering, Solar PV installation, Mechanical Engineering, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), and other key technical fields.

Since welcoming our first cohort of just three students in 2017, MMTVC has grown to serve over 2,000 students and employ more than 70 highly qualified teaching staff. We offer a diverse range of programs across Seven(7) vibrant departments, including:

  • Hospitality and Institutional Management
  • Building and Civil Engineering
  • Business Studies
  • Electrical and Electronic Engineering
  • Fashion and Design
  • Computing and Informatics
  • Mechanical and Automotive Engineering

These programs are delivered through Artisan, Certificate and Diploma levels under KNEC and Levels 3,4,5 and 6 under the Competency Based Education Training (CBET) assessed by TVET CDACC. Our Graduates possess practical, hands-on skills that meet industry standards and drive employability.

Our commitment to excellence has further been bolstered by our inclusion in the Young Africa Works – Kenya program, a collaborative initiative between Mastercard Foundation, Government of Kenya and the Private Sector. This partnership, supported by Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan), has equipped us with valuable resources such as modern training equipment, learning materials, career guidance tools, and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) frameworks.

MMTVC also implements a Dual Training program, blending classroom learning with practical industry experience, a testament to our dedication to producing competent graduates ready to thrive in the workforce.

As a key player in advancing TVET education in Kenya, MMTVC has actively supported the establishment of other TVET institutions, including Kilgoris TVC in Narok County, and is mentoring the upcoming Narok North TVC. These initiatives align with the government’s agenda to ensure equitable access to quality technical education in every constituency.

Whether you’re passionate about Tourism, Hospitality, Wildlife Management, or other technical fields, MMTVC offers an unrivaled platform to pursue your ambitions. We are proud members of the Kenya Association of Technical Training Institutions (KATTI) and the Commonwealth Association of Technical Universities and Polytechnics in Africa (CAPA), ensuring that our training meets both local and global standards.

Join us at Maasai Mara Technical and Vocational College and become part of an institution that is shaping the future of skilled professionals in Kenya and beyond. We look forward to welcoming you to our college.
